ileolai asked: people like Einstein and Bill Gates, who dropped out of school, did so because they didnt fit in/had learning disorders, not because they wanted to "fuck the establishment!" like the privileged white boy libertarians taking over the uncollege movement. Exceptional talent + exceptional circumstances helped them to succeed. Most people who drop out of school for those reasons just drown because there's few to no alternatives to college.

But I don’t know if those folks are “taking over” the uncollege/skipping college (I feel the term uncollege has been really branded by one individual whom I’m not so fond of, so I’m leery of using that term personally) movement/community, since it seems in it’s recent (last few years) incarnation at least, that movement has always been a (mostly) white libertarian boys club! :-S
